The Stockholm group will contribute with a deep understanding of serine hydrolase reaction mechanism and how it can be exploited for promiscuous reactions. The group has a strong record in rational protein engineering to change substrate selectivity as well as enantioselectivity, based on molecular modelling. The group has a very good experience in using enzymes in polymer synthesis, with an expertise in end-functionalized polyesters. We have a tradition in combining molecular modelling with kinetic studies for the evaluation of enzyme substrate interactions in ground and transition state. Member of the PSC and DIPC.
